Pennsylvania - The presence of fumes from a possible gas spill threatened local residents in Lackawanna County and prompted evacuations early Tuesday.

The ARC of Lackawanna County Chapter deployed team members and opened a shelter for residents within the affected area.

Disaster Alert: Blizzard and Wildfire in Texas

Texas - Severe weather has produced heavy snow, up to hurricane force wind gusts and single-digit temperatures that affected travel in several portions of the state and left residents without power on Monday.

Chapters within the North Texas Region communicated with Emergency Management, opened several warming centers / shelters, placed others on stand-by and provided Mass Care.

High winds complicated brush as well as residential fires that destroyed an apartment complex, damaged another and affected scores of residents in Bexar County since Monday.  Multiple fatalities reported.

The Southwest Texas Region deployed Disaster Action Team members, dispatched an Emergency Response Vehicle and provided Mass Care.

Disaster Alert: Blizzard in Kansas and Missouri

Kansas and Missouri - Severe weather impacted the two states with gusty winds and snow that closed roads, downed trees and caused power outages on Monday.

Chapters within the Kansas regions placed volunteers on stand-by, identified and talked with potential shelter sites and communicated with Emergency Management.

Chapters in the Missouri Regions identified human and material support, relocated shelter trailer resources and dispatched a liaison to the State Emergency Operations Center.

Chapters within the region are moving personnel as well as materials and placed shelters on stand-by to respond to residents within the affected area.
